Scientific Mission of Deltares to PIK

In October, Doris Vertegaal, Researcher at Deltares and member of COMPASS team, visited the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) in Germany. During her stay, among several other activities, the COMPASS project was disemminated. Also, Doris collaborated with Dr. Dominik Paprotny, Researcher at Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) and also member of COMPASS team, who:

  • introduced her to his dynamic flood vulnerability model,
  • taught her how to use this for impact attribution of the COMPASS case study about tropical cyclones in Mozambique,
  • introduced to various sources for socioeconomic and impact data that can be used for impact attribution and evaluation in Mozambique.

This Short Term Scientific Mission (STSM) was supported by the EU COST Association and COST Action CA19139 PROCLIAS.
