We are pleased to share that COMPASS has been spotlighted by the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) in its latest article, “Spotlight on environment and health: projects protecting human health and the environment in prospect of increasingly frequent heat waves.”

The article highlights a selection of EU-funded projects contributing to a better understanding of, and response to, the growing risks posed by climate change and extreme weather events. Among them, COMPASS is recognised for its work on developing a harmonised framework for climate attribution, designed to address not only individual climate hazards but also more complex situations involving compound, sequential and cascading events.

Through event-based modelling, weather-type analysis and contextualised storylines, COMPASS aims to strengthen our understanding of the drivers and impacts of extreme events and communicate this knowledge in ways that can better support preparedness and decision-making.

We are delighted to see the work of the COMPASS consortium featured alongside other innovative EU-funded initiatives, and proud to contribute to climate resilience, environmental protection and human health.
