The inaugural GEO Global Forum in 2025 was a premier global event to inspire all elements of our society – from Ministers and global leaders to citizens – to harness Earth Intelligence to empower informed and ambitious actions to ensure food security, restore ecosystems, prevent disasters, and confront the triple planetary crisis, transforming the Sustainable Development Goals into an achievable reality.
At the heart of the week, GEO-20 Plenary included a Ministerial Segment and served as the event’s centerpiece, where the GEO community marked three key milestones in our journey:
COMPASS team participated at the European Union booth at the GEO Global Forum exhibition, presenting the project with a poster entitled “Results from COMPASS Work Package 1 – Characterising compound extremes in current and future climates“.
Also, the video of the project was presented during the conference.
COMPASS aims to develop a harmonised, yet flexible, methodological framework for climate and impact attribution of various complex extremes that includes compound, sequences and cascading hazard events
