SUMMARY:AGU24 Annual Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Each year\, AGU’s annual meeting\, the largest gathering of Earth and space scientists\, convenes 25\,000+ attendees from 100+ countries to share research and connect with friends and colleagues. Scientists\, educators\, policymakers\, journalists and communicators attend AGU24 to better understand our planet and environment\, opening pathways to discovery\, opening greater awareness to address climate change\, opening greater collaborations to lead to solutions and opening the fields and professions of science to a whole new age of justice equity\, diversity\, inclusion and belonging. This December\, AGU24 returned to Washington\, D.C. with the theme “What’s Next for Science.” \nDr. Dominik Paprotny\, researcher at Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) and member of COMPASS team\, presented the COMPASS project with a poster entitled “Towards operational attribution of flood impacts in Europe” during the Session H23H – Global Water Risks: Advances in Large-Scale Flood and Drought Risk Assessment and Management for a Sustainable Future I Poster\, on Tuesday 10 December 2024 betweeen 13:40-17:30. \nYou can read the abstract here. \nThe poster is available here. \n \nAlso\, Andrzej Giza\, researcher at the University of Szczecin (US) and member of COMPASS team\, presented a poster entitled “Database of windstorm impacts in Europe\, 1950–2020” during the Session GC31O: Detection and Attribution of Anthropogenic Climate Change and Extreme Weather and Climate Events I Poster\, on Wednesday 11 December 2024 betweeen 08:30-12:20. \nYou can read the abstract here. \nThe poster is available here.
